Compatibility checklist

Install basics

Unload. Remove the existing handguard; for free-float, remove the old barrel nut if required.
Install/torque the correct barrel nut; align per manufacturer spec.
Slide on and align the handguard with the receiver rail; apply threadlocker where specified and torque evenly.
Function-check gas operation, accessory clearance, and confirm optic/iron alignment.
