AR-9 handguards—slimmer control, cooler runs, and M-LOK/Pic mounting. Free-float lengths to fit your build and suppressor. With express shipping. ```html
Upgrade your AR-9 with a modern handguard for better control, cooler strings, and flexible mounting—purpose-built for blowback PCCs.
Why upgrade your AR-9 handguard
-
Control: slim profiles and grippy textures improve handling and recoil management.
-
Heat management: generous venting and heat-resistant materials help keep hands cool.
-
Mounting: M-LOK and top Picatinny sections for lights, handstops, switches, and sling points.
-
Build fit: lengths to cover muzzle devices, “tuck” a can, or match your stance and reach.
Types & lengths
-
Free-float (most AR-9s): clamps to a barrel nut, not the barrel—stiff, light, and consistent.
-
Popular lengths: ~7–8" (PCC/PDW), ~9–11" (general use), ~13.5–15" (max reach/suppressor cover). Check inner diameter if you plan to tuck.
Compatibility—what to check
-
Barrel nut & threads: many rails include a proprietary nut; confirm upper compatibility and torque specs.
-
Receiver/top-rail height: ensure the handguard’s rail aligns with your upper for seamless irons/optics.
-
Clearances: verify ID for large muzzle devices or suppressors; no gas block on blowback AR-9, so no gas-tube timing needed.
-
Handstop/QD needs: pick models with integrated QD sockets and anti-rotation tabs if desired.
Materials & features
-
Aluminum: strong, light, excellent thermal characteristics; most common for AR-pattern rails.
-
Useful touches: anti-rotation, indexed flats, scalloped grips, and heat shields where applicable.
Install basics
- Unload and secure the firearm. Remove the existing handguard and any muzzle device if required.
- Install/torque the correct barrel nut per manufacturer specs; align for the handguard’s anti-rotation interface.
- Slide on the handguard, set alignment with the receiver top rail, apply threadlocker where specified, and torque fasteners evenly.
- Function-check accessories, verify no contact with the barrel or muzzle device, and confirm optic/iron alignment.
