Upgrade your stock for better fit, control and recoil comfort across Beretta, Remington, Winchester, Benelli and Mossberg platforms. The right stock improves length of pull, cheek weld and shot-to-shot consistency—on the range, in the field, or for defense.
Why upgrade your stock
-
Fit & ergonomics: dial in length of pull (LOP), comb height and grip angle for faster, repeatable mounts.
-
Recoil management: modern pads, recoil tubes and in-stock dampers reduce felt recoil and muzzle rise.
-
Control & speed: better cheek weld and wrist angle improve sight alignment and transitions.
-
Use-case tuning: tailor a gun for hunting, clays, home defense or duty with the right geometry and features.
Types of stocks
-
Fixed: classic profile with swap-in spacers and pads to set LOP; rugged and simple.
-
Adjustable: tool-less or tool-based LOP spacers, comb risers, and buttpad height/cant for a custom fit.
-
Folding/collapsible (tactical): compact storage and quick length changes; common on defensive builds.
-
Thumbhole / precision: enhanced wrist support for slow-fire accuracy or precision slug/rifle work.
-
Chassis-style (rifles): aluminum backbone with AR-style interfaces for maximum adjustability.
Platform notes
-
Beretta (1301, A300/A400, PMX/CX4): shotgun stocks are model-specific; confirm generation and 12/20 ga. Many offer spacer-driven LOP and optional cheek risers for optics.
-
Remington (870, 1100/11-87, 700): 870/1100 stocks are not cross-compatible; verify action family and gauge. Model 700 rifle stocks/chassis depend on receiver footprint (SA/LA) and bottom metal.
-
Winchester (SXP, SX4, Model 70): SXP/SX4 shotgun stocks are series-specific; Model 70 rifle stocks vary by action length and floorplate style.
-
Benelli (M1/M2/M3/M4, SBE): inertia vs. gas guns use different attachments. M4 tactical stocks include collapsible and fixed options—check recoil tube generation and laws in your region.
-
Mossberg (500/590, 930/940, 835/535, 500 Compact): pump vs. semi stocks differ; confirm 12/20 ga and receiver family. Youth/compact stocks shorten LOP for smaller shooters.
Materials & features
-
Polymer: light, weatherproof, low maintenance; often includes spacers and QD sling sockets.
-
Wood: classic feel and balance; available with adjustable combs on select target models.
-
Aluminum/Chassis: rigid, highly adjustable; ideal for precision and optics-centric setups.
-
Useful touches: QD cups, M-LOK/rail sections on tactical stocks, grip texture upgrades, and enhanced recoil pads.
Fit & compatibility checklist
-
Model & family: match the exact action (e.g., 870 vs. 1100; M2 vs. M4; SXP vs. SX4).
-
Gauge/action length: confirm 12/20 ga and rifle action (short/long) where applicable.
-
Receiver/stock interface: tube style, tang shape, and mounting hardware differ by brand and generation.
-
Optic height: if using red dots/scopes, pick a comb height that supports a solid, repeatable cheek weld.
Install basics
- Unload and verify clear. Remove the recoil pad, then the stock bolt per your model’s manual.
- Transfer required hardware (washers, spacers, sling studs). Fit the new stock and torque fasteners to spec.
- Set LOP spacers and cheek riser (if present). Confirm safety/trigger clearance and smooth cycling.
- Mount your optic/sights and dry-mount to verify a natural cheek weld; fine-tune pad height or spacers as needed.
